At 72,800 tons the Yamato and her sistership Musashi were the largest/heaviest batteleships ever constructed and carried 9 x 18"(46cm) guns. Once in service in 1942 she was the Flagship of Adm. Isoroku Yamamoto. Model measures 14.75" long and can be displayed as a waterline model or on the stand provided.
